About LexOutsource
Company Profile
LexOutsource was founded in 2012 by Irshad Motala, a legal professional (LLB) with several years experience in the legal research and writing environment. LexOutsource meets the growing demand of Canadian lawyers to increase their profitability, reduce their work hours, improve their work product, and perhaps most importantly, increase their quality of life.
We understand the day to day needs and pressures of running a law practice, from a solo firm to a large litigation practice. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive legal research, writing and analysis service to lawyers throughout Canada, at an extremely affordable rate.
LexOutsource uses a unique model to ensure our legal services are affordable, yet remain high quality. We employ experienced legal professionals based in South Africa to handle the bulk of the actual legal work. In turn, a non-resident Canadian legal professional provides oversight and quality control. The fact that South Africa has a common law legal system, coupled with the fact that oversight and quality control is provided by a law graduate from a Canadian university, equips our team well to provide the services we offer.
The legal professionals at LexOutsource are comprised of a diverse group specializing in a variety of practice areas. However, common to all of them is a passion and talent for legal research, writing and analysis. They are recruited exclusively from the best international universities, and many of them have practised as legal professionals at some of the top chambers and law firms in the world.
Our Chief Executer Officer
Our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Irshad Motala, brings years of legal research experience to LexOutsource. He has drafted hundreds of legal memoranda, pleadings, motions and factums, covering areas of law ranging from auto accidents to the regulation of financial institutions, from property disputes between neighbours to alleged Charter violations.
Prior to founding LexOutsource, Irshad held several legal research related positions internationally. During a period in South Africa, Irshad served as a Legal Consultant to the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa, and later clerked for the Honourable Justice Zakeria Yacoob at the Constitutional Court of South Africa. He thereafter worked as a Legal Researcher in Office of the Chief Justice of South Africa. Irshad also spent time in the United States, and was a member of the District Court Screening Unit for the State Attorney in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Irshad holds an LLB degree, as well as certificates in Comparative Constitutional Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and International Business Transactions from Howard University in Washington DC.
